Pre-Operative Instructions

Before Your Operation

• Please do not eat or drink anything 8 hours the night prior to your surgery. If you take medication daily, you may drink only a small sip of water to take that medication.
• If you are a minor, a parent/legal guardian or a person 21 and older, must bring you to the appointment for the surgical procedure. That person must remain in the building or outside on the premises during the procedure. This adult must have a valid driver’s license and will be responsible for your transportation upon completion of surgery.
• Minors 17 and under may have one parent/legal guardian accompany them to the operating room, only until the patient has been placed under anesthesia, at that time they will be escorted back to the waiting area until the completion of your surgery. Patients 18 and older are not permitted to have anyone accompany them once taken back to the operating room.
• Our waiting area is small and we request that you do not bring more than two people with you to any type of appointment. This includes adults and children.
• Please remove all facial piercings prior to surgery.
• Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing for your surgical procedure.
• Do not wear fingernail polish, acrylic nails or make-up the day of surgery.
• Stock up on soft foods, jell-o, pudding, ice-cream, yogurt, etc.
• Get plenty of rest the night before surgery.
• If you smoke, it is very important that you refrain from smoking 36 hours prior to surgery.
• Be prepared to pay your estimated portion of the procedures the day of surgery. BACK
• We have Certified Nurse Anesthetists who are always on staff during your surgery for your comfort and safety during the procedure.
• If you are going to be late for your appointment and we have not been notified, we will remove you from our schedule. We have a no tolerance policy for patients who do not give us a call and simply do not show up.
• Cell phone recording, picture, or video inside the building at any time, is prohibited.
• All menstruating females will be required to take a pregnancy test in the clinic the day of surgery, prior to the procedure. Patients may bring their own pregnancy test, of any kind unopened to be performed in the clinic, or a test can be provided to the patient for a $10.00 fee in the clinic.
• Please be aware as we are a surgery facility there could always be a wait time beyond your scheduled appointment time, as complications during surgery do sometimes arise that we are unable to prepare our schedule for accordingly. We will always do our best to accommodate and get you back for surgery as soon as possible.
